The modalities of university extension will be articulated into a Unified System of Social Interaction. Its main purpose is to logically relate any action that may be proposed by the university to programs, projects, activities and proposals from academia, public institutions and social organizations. These actions should increase the visibility and continuity of the proposition of re-branding the region as an area of knowledge and recognition of identities, where economic, social, environmental and cultural exchanges are expressed. The aim of is to strengthen socio-cultural relations both in the Colombia and Venezuela border region and other regions where the university has a presence through expressed programs , projects, and various activities, while recognizing the possibility of internationally addressing the modalities of subsequent articles. This system should be unified in the manner described in subsequent articles.
Extension Partnership mode.
Distributes the University’s social work and practices into specific territories or sectors. The actions, carried with participatory approaches, are aimed at continuous and systematic social and community problems, and are aimed at processing and development, together with university practices, as individual students’ or teachers’ actions. They will guide the development of specific community, social or institutional capacities through a process of continual exchange with the communities. They should be developed from areas of study, recent semesters’ curriculum practices in either undergraduate or postgraduate, or other extension experiences that, despite having objectives focused on experience in the experimental or in the application of knowledge, nevertheless enable the development of programs and projects. These projects then must contribute to improving the training conditions of the social and productive environment in which they are performed, while also strengthening the capacities of students and increasing their comprehensive training possibilities.
Internships.
These are activities performed by students in undergraduate and graduate programs where the goal is to receive training in educational academic and social aspects. Acquired knowledge will be applied to different situations according to needs and demands of the community, with the aim of development of abilities and skills relevant to job performance. Each Faculty will be responsible for the programming and development of internships, according to the specific characteristics of each area, based on the provisions of the regulations.
Social Work.
These are community-oriented activities which address needs and problems previously identified by the institution, while also raising the students’ awareness of their society. Faculties and their various academic programs will implement projects ensuring academic and social support ensuring the missionary principles of the University. Each of these is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Social Work Regulations.
Modality of Education and Management for Labor and Human Development.
These are a set of teaching-learning and management processes, properly planned and organized, offered to students, alumni and the community. These processes exist in order to delve into specialized areas of knowledge, while upgrading recent scientific, artistic and technological innovations, grade specific skills, train for general knowledge about specific problems or needs, train and educate in academic, business and artistic aspects, without being subject to system levels and degrees set out in Article 11 of the General Law of Education (see Art. 36) and therefore not conducive to title and under Law 30 of 1992.
Education for work and human development.
Is understood as continuing education programs not conducive to a qualification are intended to complement and update the basic academic pre and postgraduate training. These will be developed by the initiative of academic faculties or from the office of Social Interaction. These activities will be conducted through seminars, conferences, courses, workshops in the classroom, or through distance or virtual learning.
Method of Monitoring and Supporting the Alumni.
In managing relationships with alumni maintain a dynamic and proactive relationship between graduates and the institution. This modality will give rise to a potential that should result in the ability to build knowledge, increase opportunities to participate in social processes, influencing the dynamics in which each of them are involved, improve the conditions of work experience and achieve the purposes of higher education in order to form citizens committed to reality and the social environment.
Internships, Social Work, Education for Work and Human Development and Alumni must officially register with the Social Interaction System of the University.
Technology Management mode.
Given the recognition of technology management in Pamplona University, it is considered a strategic sector for higher education institutions. It seeks to connect science, technology, development and business management; in other words, it contributes to strengthening the link between the university, business and the state, giving socially useful knowledge. It is necessary that the University performs two actions: an immediate and mediate. The immediate action is that the entire project should be systematized and published, whereas the second is to articulate the technological management of Law 1286 of 2009 on Science and Technology and the 3582 CONPES 2009, which will give greater relevance to academic activity, promoting the innovation of competitiveness of the productive sector in the globalized world and helping to promote state intervention as a catalyst for these cooperative relationships with the promulgation of policies, incentives and investment in science and technology, critical to achieve the integration of the territories and the region in society and effective use of knowledge.
Modality of National and International Cooperation and Dissemination of Knowledge.
These are the activities of academic, scientific, technical, sports, and cultural cooperation that the University sets forward under national strategies and international cooperation, as well as government programs and commitments for the exchange and transfer of knowledge, skills, experiences and technologies among countries for their mutual benefit. In this embodiment they are the relationships between universities, through university and social networks on specific issues and dissemination of knowledge production, from the systematization of experiences and project results and publication of various existing resources.
